On-Board Engineering is hiring a Chemical Engineer in Richmond, VA!

Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity, based upon qualifications.
Overview: We are actively seeking to add a Capital Project Leader with a Chemical Engineering background for our growing Richmond, VA office
Responsibilities: - With your extensive experience in chemical process and project engineering, you will guide and oversee all aspects of process design, improvement, and troubleshooting
- Your expertise in process simulation, equipment sizing, and optimization will contribute to increased productivity, reduced costs, and improved safety
- Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- You will support the Geismar and Baton Rouge area plant locations.

- By providing technical guidance and expertise in chemical process engineering, you will drive process optimization, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Your ability to analyze and optimize process parameters, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement best practices will contribute to the overall productivity and profitability of the company
- Your strong communication and collaboration skills will enable you to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and innovation
- Help to build a strong, diverse team by recruiting talent, identifying, and developing successors, driving retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture
- Guide and oversee all aspects of chemical process design, improvement, and troubleshooting
- Conduct process simulations, equipment sizing, and optimization
- Analyze and optimize process parameters to improve efficiency and productivity
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or graduate level degree from an accredited institution in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in chemical process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software and equipment sizing
- Experience in process optimization and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting chemical manufacturing sites
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- P.E. valued but not required
Other Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Drug and background screening required
Physical Requirements: - Will require some visits to chemical plants and require exposure to ambient temperature extremes
- Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
- Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc.
- Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs. Employee will need to climb up the stairs up to the 2nd and as high as the 10th floor of the operating buildings up to 1 to 3 times per week. Conducting walk downs and walking to the operating areas will require walking 200 to 1200 yards on some days of the week. Employee will need to bend over and reach over their heads to verify instruments, wiring, connections and control systems in the field.
- Assignments may require conducting plant walkdowns and wearing chemical plant or refinery PPE to include eye protection, hearing protection, hard hat, steel toed shoes, chemical resistant gloves and FP coveralls.
