Your Role at SAM:

• Assist a dedicated field crew in daily operations by using various land survey instruments to gather essential data for boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
• Support the Crew Chief in setting up and operating advanced survey equipment such as robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, and 3D laser scanners.
• Utilize surveying software and controllers to accurately collect geospatial data and perform necessary survey computations.
• Read and interpret different types of maps and plans with guidance from your Crew Chief.
• Take precise field notes, measurements, and sketches under the supervision of the Crew Chief.
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment, as well as cleaning and maintaining all surveying tools.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

What You Need to Succeed:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess a valid, current driver’s license.
• No prior experience in surveying is necessary; a strong willingness to learn and work outdoors is essential.
• A keen interest in land surveying, construction, or civil engineering is highly desirable.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and capable of lifting up to 80 pounds.
• Willingness to travel and stay out of town for work as needed.
