Direct Hire | $100,000 Annual Salary

Located: Outside of the Columbia area

A confidential organization is seeking an accomplished Deputy Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for a diverse, multi-division department responsible for delivering critical community services. This role will oversee daily operations, manage personnel, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive initiatives that support both safety and operational efficiency.

The Deputy Director will partner closely with senior leadership to coordinate departmental activities, implement policies, and resolve escalated operational issues. This individual will also be responsible for aligning resources, managing budgets, and fostering a culture of excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and coordinate daily operations across multiple service divisions
• Lead workforce planning, development, and performance management initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, certifications, and mandated trainings
• Oversee regulatory adherence and operational standards
• Allocate resources, manage workflows, and execute strategic projects
• Address escalated issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions
• Provide advanced technical and operational expertise across service areas
• Manage departmental budget planning, tracking, and cost control
• Communicate organizational directives and priorities to staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in large-scale operations or public service management
• Strong technical knowledge in essential service systems and infrastructure is preferred
• Proven track record in upper-level leadership, employee relations, and conflict resolution
• Valid driver’s license
