Alexander at the Persian Gate
Doesn’t’flinch, doesn’t hesitate
Is it adrenalin or Aristotle
That makes the boy go full throttle?
He’s gonna cut that knot in two,
And be dead by the time he’s thirty-two.

I’m the Knight of the rocking horse chair,
She’s the Virgin Princess brushing my hair.
Compelled by a cheesy fate I capture the Queen for an inside straight.
I’m rocking it slow’a0’a0’91cause that’s how I ride
When evil empires are about to collide.

Bumblebees buzzing in my head
Trash talking, leaving nothing unsaid.
Crazy red spiders spin webs of black silk
While spreading rumors of love’s sweet milk
And here I am bumfuzzled again
Trapped inside my shrinking skin

I’m flat on my back when they flip the switch,
Trying to break me twitch by twitch
They light me up like the fourth of July,
But I’m hard to grasp as a dragonfly.
Is that all you got? Thunder and rain
It’s one for the money,’two for the pain!’

When the last card is dealt and the chips are down
Will you take the sword and stand your ground?
Can you cut to the quick, cut to the bone?
Can you make the final cut on your own?

The King is naked, has no sword
Asks me if I want to be restored!
But done is done, shut is shut
And words are’ just wheels spinning in a rut.
I crossed every “T” and dotted each dot,
That’92s how I made my own Gordian Knot.
