HealthNet Aeromedical Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit shared service of Cabell Huntington Hospital/Marshall Health Network, Charleston Area Medical Center/Vandalia Health, and WVU Medicine.
In 1986, a group of West Virginia healthcare leaders met and created a vision for a safe, high-quality, technologically advanced not-for-profit critical care transport system. From that vision, HealthNet Aeromedical Services was born.
From humble beginnings with two medical helicopters, HealthNet Aeromedical Services has grown into a nationally recognized industry leader. With ten aircraft flying from eight strategically located flight bases and 42 ambulances serving seven HealthTeam Critical Care Transport base locations across the state, the program is well-positioned to serve the entirety of Central Appalachia and beyond.

Flight Paramedic
Position Reports To:
Flight Team Leader at Assigned Helicopter Base(s)
Position Interfaces To:
Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer
Position Overview:
The Flight Paramedic provides intensive care level life support services to critically-ill and/or injured patients as part of an integrated air transport team.
Environmental and Mechanical Considerations:
Flight Paramedics deliver critical care services under the stresses of flight, with frequent exposure to blood/body fluids, in sometimes hazardous conditions, near moving mechanical parts and within high noise environments. Training and resources are available to mitigate risk as appropriate, but the responsibility to utilize those devices falls to the individual.
Minimum Required Educational Level:
Completion of an accredited certificate or associate’s degree paramedic program
Preferred Educational Level:
Completion of an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in emergency medical technology, business or related field
Required Previous Experience:
Three years or more experience as a paramedic in a high-volume 911 provider environment
