“Return of the BOOGIEMAN!!  As anticipated, Alan Gerber’s house concert in The Pas sizzled!!  While touring solo, Alan somehow manages to fit a whole band in his instrument cases!!  There’s the acoustic, Epiphone-strumming troubadour, the raucous Fender bottle-neck slide master, the funky pizzicato fiddle plucker, and of course, the boogeying barrelhouse keyboard rocker!!  Whoa!!  Mix in the song-writing story-teller and howling vocalist and you’ve got an evening jam-packed with super entertainment!  Electrifying!!”

My last Home Routes BC tour was intense, 15 shows in 22 days! The people and geography were fabulous. The audiences were very receptive, I met lots of new people and had the chance to connect with some old friends. Here are some of the highlights:

Quote from audience member Bill Turner:
“Alan is super talented and blew me away with music that I didn’t even know I liked!”
We hope he comes back soon!

As Dorothea, our awesome host of the house concert last night, put it:
“Alan Gerber rocks and moves three generations at Ten Mile Point!” And what an AMAZING performance that was!!

We had a great time at our first Home Routes concert of our 6th season in Powell River with the awesome Alan Gerber. One attendee said, “This was the best solo performer I have ever seen. Alan made me rethink everything I knew about creativity.”
    Here’s a taste.

Just a five-star night. Alan Gerber didn’t quit. The stories. The energy. The music. From mad keyboard skills to guitar ballads that tore at your heartstrings. …

“Alan drew on his wide ranging repertoire to deliver everything from laid back ballads to some seriously dirty blues all the way to rolling and stomping boogie-woogie. Audience comments ranged from “amazing talent” to “blown away”. If you’re on one of his upcoming stops, don’t miss out!”
Carl Schmidt…..Anmore, BC Home Routes Host

“Alan Gerber ignited the Kelowna Folk Club stage last Tuesday night with his torchy blues and boogie piano, his sizzling guitar playing, his hot fiddling and his incandescent personality. His rich vocals, intelligent lyrics and marvelous sense of humor left the audience glowing. This act was just blazing. We had so many fabulous comments from the entire audience.”

My newest “old friend” from Kamloops, Doug!
” Alan Kicked butt! The general consensus around here is that the bar for Home Routes concerts has been raised!”
Doug Prentice, Kamloops, Home Routes venue host

“What a treat! Looking around my home, filled with neighbours, friends and co-workers, all clapping along and shimmying shoulders to Alan’s great tunes. A wonderful way to spend a Tuesday night – a little guitar, a little fiddle, some slide guitar and a lot of boogie-licious piano. Thanks Alan, and thanks Home Routes!”

Alberta was a wonderful host to Eli and I on our July tour. The weather was fantastic, the people we stayed with and played for we’re warm, enthusiastic, made us great food, took us fishing and they sure do have wonderful dogs! Now we’re home for a few days and then the whole band is off to Petit Rocher, New Brunswick for Blues D’La Bai on Saturday, July 29th.
This Thursday, July 20th, my daughter, Hannah, will be doing her first EP launch at Godberd, 2080 Joly, Montreal, QC, 6 to 9PM. I am excited and will be there for sure!
Foster and Rosie, a couple of lovely new four legged friends from Evansburg, AB!
“Rocked the dust out of the rafters at the barn. Great show!”
Mark Deagle, co-host of our Hinton, Alberta show at Entrance Ranch.
Some beautiful Rainbows caught by my new Fairview, Alberta fishin’ bud, Ray and myself!
Eli & Dr. BIll in downtown Medicine Hat, having a “little” game of chess before our first show of the Alberta tour
“Pound for pound, the most energetic, passionate performer you’ll ever hear/experience……a great show once again and thanks for bringing Eli!”
    Dr. Bill Taylor (venue co-ordinator)
